I am just now blogging about the Great Reno Balloon Races because … well … someone else was Freshly Pressed for almost the same photographs a while back and I didn’t want to just copy them. But, I think my shots are pretty good, too. So, here goes! First, for more information on the event, please go to http://renoballoon.com/. It is a fantastic, FREE event that showcases some of the good stuff that Reno, Nevada, is all about … without ever going into a casino or brothel. (ha ha)
And, in case you wanted to see inside the balloon while there were inflating it, here are a couple more shots.
I have an unexplainable love for hot air balloon.
me too
oh sharlea these are so beautiful! and they remind me of “my reno” 🙂 xoxoxox
🙂
Fantastic! I love all the colour and your night shots are perfect. May I ask, what did you set your camera too…love it. And congrats for sacrificing sleep for art…BRAVO
Manual settings for longer exposures to capture the correct amount of light. Tripod mandatory. I’m not at the right computer to give you the exact settings but I can follow up later. And, thank you.
Thanks for your reply and I’ll check back, have an awesome day.
the settings for most of these photos are something like: ISO 1600, 1/20 sec, f/4.5, focal length 34mm, no flash, tripod … but a couple of them were hand held because the balloons were moving and it would blur at a longer exposure
Awesome info…thank you so so much. I’m recording that in a photo journal. Love those shots. I do need to invest in a tripod for sure.
Absolutely gorgeous shots!
Thanks for visiting. p.s. I am totally “Hooked.”
Glad to hear it!
